33 and 3 Books In: How Audible Changed My Life And How It Can Change Yours Too

I was 33 when I read my 3rd book. Yes, you read that correctly, 33! I’ve never been fond of books, mainly because I struggle with reading and writing. My first book was The Hardy Boys, but honestly, I can’t remember if I finished it (unlikely). The second was a brief book on something to […]
Future presence – looking at the present as your 80 year old self

The one thing I’ve come to understand is the finiteness of life. If everyone reflected on their own mortality and factored in their 80-year-old self into every situation and decision, they would see the world differently. My first real encounter with this idea was when my wife started to get into bed with my eldest […]
Happy (not so new) year!

Happy (not so new) year! After a wild holiday season, it’s the perfect time to get back on track with all aspects of life. I know it’s been a lot longer than 2 weeks since the last email, but I had so many ideas for the first newsletter of 2023 that it led to procrastination. My plan moving forward is to create a framework, “The 1 thing newsletter,” where I share one thing from different areas of my life and save the longer form content for the blog. In the meantime, I’ve shared a few nuggets that helped me in the personal development field from 2022 that I’ll be continuing in 2023. Enjoy!
AI Changed my world view

I was reviewing some notes I had made on the beliefs I held about the future when I came across this line: “AI will likely take over marketing, but content creation will live on because that part is truly human.” But after playing with AI tools provided by OpenAI, I’m not so sure about my initial statement. I’ve tried everything from creating articles, blog post ideas, social media posts, business/product name ideas, adverts/sales copy, short stories, and even AI-generated images.
I provided examples of AI-generated text and images, including a short funny story and an email asking for a pay raise. I also explained how the AI tool works and how easy it is to use, even for those without coding knowledge.
From Mind Map 89 to Action: How I’m Finding My Purpose and Direction in Life

In this blog post, I discuss my struggles with figuring out my next steps in life and my experience with personal development. I reveal that I have been conducting various exercises, reading self-help books, and listening to podcasts in order to understand myself and my direction in life. However, I have not yet found a clear path. But through my exercises, I have discovered that my interests and passions lie in writing and communication. I also want to make more meaningful connections with people in my life. I then introduce my newsletter and the concept behind it. I plan to document my ups and downs, share my personal experiences and commit to produce at least one newsletter every 2 weeks for at least 6 months. I also mention that the newsletter format may change over time and the newsletter may not be forever but for now the main goal is to follow my interests and hold myself accountable.
